Tech Trends for 2021

What tech trends should you keep an eye on in 2021? Our Groovers share their picks:

Internet of Behaviors

The Internet of Behaviors (or IOB) refers to leveraging data to change behaviors. This brings together data from both the digital and physical worlds to influence actions and behaviors through feedback loops.

The As-A-Service Revolution

“As-a-service” is the provision of services that we need to live and work through cloud-based, on-demand platforms Thanks to cloud offerings from companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and an ever-growing horde of startups and spinoffs, innovators in all fields can deploy cutting-edge tech with little upfront investment in tools, equipment or specialized people.

5G and Enhanced Connectivity

Faster and more reliable internet doesn’t just mean we can load web pages more quickly and spend less time waiting for videos to load. 5G means that services relying on advanced technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality, as well as cloud-based gaming platforms like Google’s Stadia or NVidia’s GeForce Now, become a viable proposition, anywhere at any time.

Anywhere Operations

Anywhere operations is a model that has been underscored due to the Covid-19 crisis and will remain after the pandemic is over. Given the fact that more business looks to be done remotely, this “digital first, remote first” model facilitates business being done anywhere. Even the physical spaces that remain should be digitally enhanced like we’ve seen with contactless check-out at a physical store.
